The South African Department of Labour (SDA) is seeking applications for a Senior Management Services (SMS) position. The salary ranges from R307,473 to R362,187 per annum, with Grade 1 being the highest at R307,473. Grade 2 is the lowest at R375,480 to R442,296 per annum, and Grade 3 is the highest at R451,533 to R578,826 per annum. The center of the application is the Provincial Office in Mmabatho. The job requirements include a 4 years' degree or 3 years' diploma in Nursing, with a post-basic diploma in Occupational Health/ Theatre Technique/Critical Care being an advantage. A driver's license is required. Experience in trauma/emergency/internal medical/general surgery/ Orthopaedics/theater at the regional public hospital level or private hospital is also an advantage. Experience in medical claims processing/insurance environmental will be an added advantage. Registration with the South African Nursing Council is required. The roles include coordinating early rehabilitation interventions according to beneficiaries' needs, providing early rehabilitation intervention, facilitating early to work and community re-integration programs, maintaining relationships and empowering all internal and external stakeholders. For SMS posts, candidates must successfully complete a SMS Pre-entry programme (Nyukela) as endorsed by the National School Government (NSG). The cost for Nyukela is at the applicants' own expense. The course is available at the NSG under the name Certificate for entry into SMS. Shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical competency exercise that tests relevant technical elements of the job. Following the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will recommend candidates to attend generic managerial competencies using the mandated DPSA SMS competency assessment tools. The successful candidate will be expected to sign a performance agreement.
